Evaluation of danger from fermentation-induced spontaneous ignition of wood chips.

摘要: Recently we conducted investigations in biological wastes because large pile-up storage of waste wood chips and others caused many fires Japan. This paper shows the experimental results on with thermal analysis, by using a Thermogravimetry-differential analysis (TG-DTA) micro calorimeters, as well spontaneous ignition measurements, such UN wire mesh cube tester (SIT). Exothermic reaction was observed during 45-60 degrees C only high sensitive microcalorimeters, TAM MS 80. is far apart from second major oxidation not easy to be recognized conventional detectors, like TG-DTA tester, their sensitivity cannot meet strict requirement. Correspondingly, under adiabatic condition SIT confirmed this theory, which onset temperature measured 50-80 C. implies that weak initial at ambient temperatures mainly microbial fermentation presence its inherent moisture possibly gives rise further intense combustion sustained chemical if heat removed scale chips.
