Ethno-medicinal survey on weed plants in agro-ecosystems: a case study in Jahrom, Iran

摘要: Most useful plant-derived drugs have been discovered by follow-up of ethno-medicinal information. Weeds, unwanted and uncultivated plants in agro-ecosystems, generally tend to high content bioactive secondary compounds. The main objectives present research were gather, analyze, evaluate the information on weed species used native people Jahrom, Iran. All kinds weeds repeatedly collected from various agricultural areas through different seasons 2015. Ethno-medicinal about these was obtained direct interviews open discussions with local informants. Based results, 36 belonging 18 families 31 genera had traditional medicinal uses. Asteraceae most dominant family having highest number followed Fabaceae, Brassicaceae, Polygonaceae. therapeutic uses annual life cycle. Leaf widely consumed part seed fruit. traditionally for curing health problems such as gastrointestinal disorders, body pain, metabolic disorders. It can be concluded that certain could play a major role diseases improvements people, especially developing countries. Undervaluation ongoing destruction endemic agro-ecosystems may negative impact availability unwritten knowledge valuable in the future.
