摘要: A review of current concepts in ocular motor neurophysiology is presented. Four separate subsystems eye movements are recognized: saccadic, smooth pursuit, vergence, and vestibular. Each subsystem characterized by different physiologic characteristics anatomic substrates which may be selectively affected pathologic states. further movement response, optokinetic nystagmus, complex considered a system. To regard the horizontal response as merely combination pursuit saccades an oversimplification but one useful clinical localization.
