摘要: SUMMARY We investigate attenuation (Q−1) of sediments 2.5–3.5 km thickness underneath the city Basel, Switzerland. We use recordings 195 induced events that were obtained during and after stimulation a reservoir for Deep Heat Mining Project in 2006 2007. The data set is ideally suited to estimate Q as all are confined small source volume recorded by dense surface network well six borehole sensors at various depths. deepest sensor positioned depth 2.7 km inside crystalline basement mean hypocentral distance 1.8 km. This allows us measure frequencies between 10 130 Hz. apply two different methods Q. First, we standard spectral ratio technique obtain Q, second time domain, convolving signals with operator then comparing convolved shallower stations. Both deliver comparable values also observe similar P- S- waves (QP∼QS). As expected, increases depth, but around 30–50, it low even consolidated Permian Mesozoic 500 2700 m.
