摘要: There is an increasing concern over the safety of engineered nanoparticles (ENPs) to humans and environment. It important that environmental risks these particles be tested under research regulatory schemes, e.g. Nano Risks environment & Human Health (NanoReTox) Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) in EU. Due their unique properties fact detection characterization complex matrices challenging, classic analytical methods test approaches for assessing risk may not appropriate ENPs. In this paper I present challenges associated with ENPs exposure estuarine testing a chosen generate data on ecotoxicity organisms further consideration assessment marine Careful was given selection materials (benthic Nereis diversicolor Scrobicularia plana), system conditions (CdS aqueous CdS added filtered natural seawater concentration 10 µg L-1). Evaluation effects carried out by behavioral tests (burrowing kinetics feeding rate) biochemical responses (quantification biomarkers). Multispecies Freshwater Biomonitor® (MFB) GST analysis results show significant differences between control group NPs one, indicating are potential cause sublethal organisms. Our knowledge still limited. Coordinated required gain better understanding factors processes affecting ENP fate as well develop more usable, robust sensitive systems.
