摘要: Abstract A papova-like virus has been cultivated Summary from the brain of a case progressive multifocal leucoencephalopathy (P.M.L.) complicating Hodgkin's disease. The was isolated by inoculation primary cultures human fetal glial (P.H.F.G.) cells with extracts made obtained at necropsy. Electron-microscopic examination sections and infected P.H.F.G. revealed nuclei containing virions, often in crystalline array, which are similar size to members polyoma-SV 40 subgroup papovaviruses. Similar virions were observed phosphotungstic acid (P.T.A.) stained P.M.L. cultures. Initial studies on cell susceptibility antigenicity this suggest that it is new papovavirus.
