摘要: This research project developed an electronic library of significant buildings chosen to represent seven selected periods Western architectural history: Egyptian (Mortuary temple Queen Hatshepsut), Greek (Parthenon), Roman (Pantheon), Romanesque (Speyer Cathedral), Gothic (Notre Dame Renaissance (Tempietto), and Modern (Des Moines Art Center). All were reconstructed in their original or intended forms based on plans, drawings, photographs, historical texts. Two products generated by this project: (1) materials be displayed the World Wide Web, including rendered still images for perception, movies a visual guide, Virtual Reality Modeling Language (VRML) models user navigation; (2) virtual reality (VR) C2 (an improved version Cave Automatic Environment CAVE facility). The benefits these VR Web are easy accessibility at any time from various geographic locations immersive experience that enhances viewers’ understanding effects spatial proportions form colors materials.
