摘要: Over the past four decades, Long Island, NY, USA, has lost coastal wetlands at a rate of 4% per decade due to submergence. In this study, we examined relationships between tidal salt marsh loss and environmental factors, including elevation, range, wastewater exposure through analysis stable isotope ratios soils biota. Our goal was identify factors that increase vulnerability marshes sea level rise, with specific emphasis on potential role poor water quality in hastening loss. results suggest may accelerate intertidal marsh, but does not negatively impact high resilience rise. And while elevation range were statistically significant predictors loss, they similarly displayed opposite among zones. This study suggests different functional zones respond global change be an important factor mediating eutrophication effects marshes.
