Culture loss: American Indian family disruption, urbanization, and the Indian Child Welfare Act.

摘要: This study examined the perceptions and views of urban American Indian parents regarding foster care family issues. Findings highlight four themes: (1) discouragement from working with current system, (2) role culture in caregiving, (3) differing definitions relatedness, (4) effects historical pain due to past disruption. These themes are used formulate guidelines for development an child welfare program.
