摘要: The International Staging Committee (ISC) of the Association for Study Lung Cancer (IASLC) collected 68,463 patients with nonsmall cell lung cancer and 13,032 small cancer, registered or diagnosed from 1990 to 2000, whose records had adequate information analyzing tumor, node, metastasis (TNM) classification. T, N, M descriptors were analyzed, recommendations changes in seventh edition TNM classification proposed based on differences survival. For T component, tumor size was found have prognostic relevance, its analysis led subclassify T1 tumors into T1a (≤ 2 cm) T1b (>2 ‐ ≤ 3 T2 T2a (>3 5 T2b (>5 7 cm), reclassify > cm T3. Furthermore, additional nodules same lobe as primary tumors, T4 would be reclassified T3; another ipsilateral lobe, M1 T4; pleural dissemination, M1. There no N category. In category, recommended subclassified M1a (contralateral dissemination) M1b (distant metastasis). new stage grouping upstage T2bN0M0 IB IIA, downstage T2aN1M0 IIB IIA T4N0-N1M0 IIIB IIIA. better differentiate different prognoses.
