摘要: Retina is the part of eye suffering most damage from drugs. It made up a thin nervous membrane that covers eye-ball internally, within thickness which three types cells are ordered. In this paper we describe drugs responsible for retinal side effects. Most commonly recognized drugs-induced retinopathy have particular affinity pigmented epithelium: antimalarials (quinine, hydroxychloroquine, mefloquine), phenothiazines, indomethacin, ethambutol, and desferrioxamine. Attention especially focused on more recently suspected adverse reactions in retina: vigabatrin, gabapentin, sildenafil, tamoxifen, isotretinoin, interferon, omeprazole. Moreover, referred some reports by herbal medicines nutritional supplements (canthaxanthine, Gingko biloba L. Glycyrrhiza glabra L.) This review based data published scientific journals indexed PubMed Medline databases. The last search literature was conducted April 2008.
