摘要: Abstract Historical data for Leydig cell tumors from untreated or vehicle treated rats carcinogenicity studies collected in the RITA database are presented. Examples given analyses of these dependency on variables considered to be possible influence spontaneous incidence tumors. In 7453 male available analysis, only one case a carcinoma was identified. The adenomas differed markedly between strains. High incidences close 100% have been found F344 rats, while mean 4.2% Sprague–Dawley and 13.7% Wistar rats. Incidences were highly variable, primarily caused by different sources animals. Mean per breeder varied 2.8 39.9%. Analyses further parameters performed breeders G I, tumor decreased over observation period with increasing terminal body weight. increased age at necropsy higher dietary admixture compared gavage studies. These had no effect A B. Animals almost all considerably when bearing adenoma than animals without adenoma. Studies longitudinal trimming testes transverse trimming. observed dependencies differences discussed explanations given. Consequences use historical control outlined. With retrospective presented here we able confirm published features carcinomas. This indicates that is valuable tool their biological features. Furthermore, it demonstrates beneficial definition reliable scientifically solid basis.
