摘要: Abstract Residential areas of Kuwait have been affected by rising groundwater levels for many years. The main reason this problem is the increased recharge derived from excessive irrigation gardens and parks, leaks sewage networks, where hydraulic characteristics lithology play an important role in intensifying impacts phenomenon at local scale. objective paper to assess hydrological conditions Al-Qurain residential area identify extent causes water rise problem. A total 25 wells various depths were drilled, constructed sampled study area. Water level loggers installed drilled indicated that are fluctuating on daily bases increasing up 50 cm during winter months due reduction evapotranspiration rainfall. Combining records results isotopic, chemical biological analysis, it was concluded top 20 m aquifer made mostly irrigation, waste rain addition groundwater. It also observed intruding lower Dammam dominating beneath 40 depth. This conclusion along with steep topography explained why naturally prone rise. recommended utilization integrated system dewatering desalination units re-utilize On prevention side, conduct awareness campaign educate residents over use their own properties.
