摘要: The Next Generation Network (NGN) architecture is evolving into a highly heterogeneous infrastructure composed of variety Wireless Access Technologies (WAT). In such technologically diverse network; one the key challenges would be to ensure ubiquitous communication services mobile entities, with varying mobility patterns and speed, irrespective their location and/or underlying WAT. This calls for devising efficient management solutions that provide handover entities. service responsible keeping track entities whereas enables entity change its point connection in Internet. essential mandate any solution effective fast monitoring updating while enabling seamless inter-WAT handover. notion implies handovers minimum latency packet losses. Providing an imposing challenge because update takes place after successful execution process executed at both data link layer (L2) network (L3) based on prescribed rules these respective layers. L2 node (MN) switch connectivity from serving access (AP) or base station new one. After successfully establishing connectivity, MN will then need perform L3 make IP capable link. Till completion handover, practically disconnected resulting loss data. amount lost depends latency, which turn sum delay incurred by procedure respectively. directly dependent also timing provisioning triggers initiate process. Thus develop methodology, it important take account effect specified operations. cross-layer enable inter-layer 28
