The Papuan Frog Genus Hylophorbus (Anura: Microhylidae) is not Monospecific: Description of Six New Species

摘要: Six new species of the microhylid frog genus Hylophorbus are described on basis morphological and bioacoustic investigations material which was collected recently in Irian Jaya (West Papua) Papua New Guinea. The previously regarded as monospecific; four older names were treated synonyms H. rufescens . It is shown that at least five occur two Guinea, but there evidence more can be expected. Collection adequate type localities necessary to better assess their taxonomic-nomenclatural status.
