摘要: Over the past decade, use of free flap transfers in head and neck surgery has led to remarkable advances reliability ultimate results oromandibular reconstruction. Stable retentive dental restorations have been achieved using enosseous implants placed directly into vascularized bone flaps. However, functional assessment patients who underwent primary mandibular reconstruction with these techniques not previously reported. A group 10 reconstructed nonreconstructed segmental hemimandibulectomy were compared a battery tests assess their overall well-being, cosmesis, deglutition, oral competence, speech, length hospitalization, rehabilitation. In addition, objective measures masticatory apparatus (interincisal opening, bite force, chewing performance, stroke) used compare two groups as well normal healthy subjects edentulous restored conventional implant-borne dentures. The show clear advantage for almost all categories. Persistent problems future directions are discussed.
