摘要: Inflammation is considered to play a central role in diverse range of disease outcomes associated with exposure various types inhalable particulates. The initial mechanisms through which particles trigger cellular responses leading activation inflammatory are crucial clarify order understand what physico-chemical characteristics govern the inflammogenic activity particulate matter and why some more harmful than others. Recent research suggests that molecular triggering involved proinflammatory genes onset reactions by or soluble particle components can be categorized into direct formation reactive oxygen species (ROS) subsequent oxidative stress, interaction lipid layer membranes, cell surface receptors, interactions intracellular targets. present review focuses on immediate effects cells exposed down-stream signaling regulation genes, special emphasis oxidant non-oxidant mechanisms. Importantly, ROS act as second-messenger variety pathways. Even mediated therefore also likely activate downstream redox-regulated events.
