摘要: The accuracy and precision of the stathmokinetic experiment for determination cell birth rate are discussed from practical theoretical viewpoints. Topics covered include optimal dosage metaphase arresting agent, times at which observations should be taken cells counted, correct method estimating dependence any derived estimate turnover time on age distribution cycling cells. Failure to consider these points can lead considerable inaccuracy. It is further shown that a rather imprecise one measuring duration mitosis. Data present comparing results using technique with those obtained autoradiographic studies.
