摘要: The increasing bacterial resistance to antibiotics is a worldwide concern. Essential oils are known possess remarkable antibacterial properties, but their high chemical variability complicates development into new agents. Therefore, the main purpose of this study was standardize composition. Several commercial essential ajowan (Trachyspermum ammi L.) and thyme (chemotype thymol) (Thymus vulgaris were bought on market. GC–MS analysis revealed that have composition far more consistent than oils. Sometimes thymol not even major compound. most abundant compounds homemade mixtures tested against two Staphylococcus aureus strains. property β-caryophyllene presented no direct activity S.
