Risk factors for allergic reaction at initial therapeutic plasma exchange in a single-center study: beware of high rates of severe allergic reaction

摘要: Therapeutic plasma exchange (TPE) is an important treatment modality for various diseases, but its use can be restricted by allergic reactions (AR). The aim of our study was to elucidate the frequency and risk factors AR at initial TPE using fresh frozen (FFP). Presences were extracted from medical records consecutive patients receiving 2002 2012. following data retrieved: age, gender, history allergy, steroid use, timing mean dose, immunosuppressant indication TPE, laboratory data. Eighty-eight (median age 57 years) underwent 28% had episode AR. Younger (odds ratio (OR), 1.04 (95% CI, 1.01–1.08)) indications other than hepatic insufficiency (OR, 17.8 1.95–429.4)) associated with higher incidence Close observation may warranted these conditions.
