摘要: Objective: To characterize humoral response to cerebellum in patients with gluten ataxia. Background: Gluten ataxia is a common neurologic manifestation of sensitivity. Methods: The authors assessed the reactivity sera from (13), newly diagnosed celiac disease without dysfunction (24), other causes cerebellar degeneration (11), and healthy control subjects (17) using indirect immunocytochemistry on human rat CNS tissue. Cross-reactivity commercial IgG antigliadin antibody tissue also was studied. Results: Sera 12 13 stained Purkinje cells strongly. Less intense staining seen some but not all dysfunction. At high dilutions (1:800) only subjects. brainstem cortical neurons Commercial anti-gliadin similar manner. Adsorption antibodies crude gliadin abolished dysfunction, those Conclusions: Patients have against cells. Antigliadin cross-react epitopes
