摘要: In the present study, wear resistance of zirconia-toughened alumina (ZTA) composites has been investigated under dry sliding conditions with a Hertzian contact pressures from 1.1 up to 2.2 GPa and velocity 0.15 m/s. The rate for composite 22 vol.% zirconia (3Y-TZP) content at lower (1.1 GPa), was found be around two orders magnitude higher than ones corresponding 14 7 3Y-TZP content. This result explained in terms infinite cluster formed percolation threshold. Above critical fraction ≈16 vol.%, threshold, continuous path between particles takes place. these particular cases, is dominated by percolative mechanism so that t → m transformation creates microcracks network, which controls composite.
