Hematological values associated to the serological and molecular diagnostic in cats suspected of Ehrlichia canis infection

摘要: The literature contains several studies on feline ehrlichiosis. However, information about the characteristics of Ehrlichia infection in cats is still scanty. This study evaluated association between spp. and hematologic data 93 treated at Federal University Mato Grosso Veterinary Hospital Cuiaba, state Grosso, Brazil. presence or exposure to was by Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) targeting dsb 16S rRNA gene Ehrlichia, detection anti-Ehrlichia canis IgG antibodies Indirect Fluorescence Assay (IFA), respectively. Eight (8.6%) tested positive PCR partial DNA sequence obtained from products a 100% match E. canis. Forty-two (45.1%) showed antibody reactivity against Hematological alterations such as low erythrocyte count, thrombocytopenia, lymphopenia monocytosis were observed cats. Among them, counts associated with titers 40 640 five also PCR. Furthermore, PCR-positive tendency be lymphopenic. No correlation found age sex, no ticks any examined
