摘要: Maps should be designed so that users can comprehend and use the information. Display decisions, such as choosing scale at which an area is shown, depend on properties of displayed information perceived density (PD) Taking a psychophysical approach we suggest PD in road map related to mapped area. 54 participants rated 60 maps from different regions. We provide simple model predicts electronic displays, using logarithm number roads, junctions length shown roads. The was cross-validated set (n = 44). used for automatically adjusting display scales evaluating designs, considering required perform map-related task.
