摘要: Diabetes is an increasing epidemic in Korea, and associated diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN) its most common disabling complication. DPN has insidious onset heterogeneous clinical manifestations, making it difficult to detect high-risk patients of DPN. Early diagnosis recommended the key factor for a better prognosis preventing foot ulcers, amputation, or disability. However, diagnostic tests are not clearly established because various pathophysiology developing from nerve injury differences mechanisms according type diabetes, comorbidities, unclear natural history Therefore, remains challenge physicians screen, diagnose, follow up, evaluate treatment response. In this review, diagnosing using methods assess symptoms and/or signs, sensorineural impairment, conduction studies will be discussed. Clinicians should rely on modalities utilize current available testing as complementary specific situations.
