摘要: We present the use of an ultra-narrow spectrum-sliced incoherent light source for transmission 10-Gb/s non-return-to-zero signals wavelength-division-multiplexed passive optical networks. In this source, a broadband amplified spontaneous emission noise is by filter and then fed to gain-saturated semiconductor amplifier suppress excess intensity light. modulation followed using polarization-insensitive modulator. Thanks linewidth (~0.01 nm), not only signal successfully transmitted over 20-km standard single-mode fiber without any dispersion compensation, but also retains suppression after passing through 0.2-nm-bandwidth narrow filter. Two different line rates 10.7 12.5 Gb/s are experimentally demonstrated, assuming 7% 25% forward error correction, respectively. Also presented upstream loopback configured network.
