摘要: A flying refueling boom for an aerial tanker airplane, with a mechanism moving the about different axes. The having pair of aerodynamic surfaces formed into Vee and known as ruddevators, following axes: tiltable vertical axis movement in sideways direction or azimuth; lateral up-and-down elevation; longitudinal roll axis. ruddevator control system includes pantographing cable automatically changing angle-of-attack alleviating air loads imposed by receiver when it is imparting during engagement. support articulation combining certain amount motion function azimuth boom; device varying ratio between degree change vs. change. accomplishes this without revising existing KC-135 its structure functions to optimize configuration obtain desired operating envelope. Further embodiments depict mechanisms predetermined sideward boom, while airplane airborne, thereby adapt envelope flight conditions various types airplanes.
