摘要: Abstract It is well established that a lack of social support constitutes major risk factor for morbidity and mortality, comparable to factors such as smoking, obesity, high blood pressure. Although it has been hypothesized may benefit health by reducing physiological reactivity stressors, the mechanisms underlying this process remain unclear. Moreover, date, no studies have investigated neurocognitive translate experiences into outcomes follow. To investigate these processes, thirty participants completed three tasks in which daily support, stressor, neuroendocrine responses stressor were assessed. Individuals who interacted regularly with supportive individuals across 10-day period showed diminished cortisol stressor. greater associated activity dorsal anterior cingulate cortex (dACC) Brodmann’s area (BA) 8, regions previously distress separation. Lastly, individual differences dACC BA 8 mediated relationship between low reactivity, supported reduced turn was stress responses. This study first neural underpinnings support-health provides evidence ultimately diminishing stressors.
