摘要: Publisher Summary This chapter outlines the sequence of events in formation a tissue engineered construct, and changes important factors with time. It describes key rationale, characteristics, process parameters currently used scaffold fabrication techniques. Scaffolds are great importance for engineering since they enable functional living implants out cells obtained from cell culture. As scaffolds will eventually be implanted human body, materials should nonantigenic, noncarcinogenic, nontoxic, nonteratogenic possess high cell/tissue biocompatibility so that not trigger pathological reactions after implantation. Apart biomaterial issues, macro- micro-structural properties also very important. In general, require individual external shape well-defined internal structure interconnected porosity to host most types.
