Clinical investigation of traumatic injuries of permanent incisors in Izmir, Turkey

摘要: 470 injured teeth of 370 patients who consulted the Dental Clinic Ege University, Izmir, Turkiye for examination treatment between 1981–1993 were evaluated. Information concerning sex, age at time injury, cause trauma, number teeth, type tooth and trauma recorded. More boys suffered traumatic injuries (64.8%) than girls (35.2%). Patients aged 11–15 years old exhibited highest (37.4%) followed by 6–10 group (24.5%). Most involved one (60%) maxillary central incisors most often affected (66.2%). The leading injury was undefined falls (45.1%). common non-complicated crown fracture (40.4%). At initial examination, cases seen after a long posttraumatic period showed more complications those presented within short period. Educational programs about importance dental ways preventing from benefits immediate attendance conservation avulsed fractured would be very helpful patients. Additionally improving knowledge practitioner another important point in solving problem.
