摘要: Abstract Control of single-strand DNA synthesis in coliphage f1 was studied with the use mutants which are temperature sensitive gene 2, a essential for phage replication. Cells were infected at restrictive such mutant, and synthesized after shift to permissive examined. When cells held 42 °C ten or more minutes infection, only single-stranded immediately temperature. This indicated that accumulation pool double-stranded, replicative form molecules is not an absolute requirement DNA, although precedes wild-type phage. mutant do replicate infecting but accumulate substantial amount 5 protein, DNA-binding protein synthesis.
