摘要: Abstract Babitonga Bay is a South Atlantic estuary with significant ecological function; it part of the last remaining areas mangrove communities in Southern Hemisphere. The aim this study was to determine spatial distribution faecal sterols and linear alkylbenzenes (LABs) surface sediments perform an integrated evaluation several molecular marker indices assess sewage contamination status area. highest observed concentrations (coprostanol + epicoprostanol) LABs were 6.65 μg g −1 413.3 ng g , respectively. Several sterol calculated correlated coprostanol levels; these analyses showed that index limits presented current literature could underestimate For overall estuarine system, low impact may be assumed based on total mass inventories for (between 1.4% 4.8%).
