Characterization of the DNA-protein complex at the termini of the bacteriophage PRD1 genome.

摘要: DNA of bacteriophage PRD1 has protein P8 at its termini. Extracts infected cells are able to derivatize in vitro with labeled dGTP. Two early proteins, P1 and P8, products genes I VIII, respectively, the only phage proteins necessary for formation P8-dGMP complex. This was shown by complementation extracts from mutants use carrying cloned VIII. With Escherichia coli that temperature sensitive synthesis, it possible show complex dependent upon host replication apparatus. The analysis purified hydrolysis enzymatic digestion showed there is a covalent phosphodiester bond between tyrosine 5'-dGMP.
