摘要: Abstract Metamorphic mineral assemblages determined in thin-sections have been used to compile metamorphic maps showing the distribution of facies and minerals Zambia. These lead recognition two non-parallel belts. The Lufilian Belt curves along southern margin (structural) Arc, Luangwa—Kariba covers entire eastern south-eastern borders country. Stratigraphic mineralogical relationships, radiometric data, indicate that belts are contemporaneous their present major features result a single tectonothermal episode which ended c. 500 m.y. ago. In particular, Irumide fold belt is not recognisable as entity.
