摘要: The Road Ranger program is a freeway service patrol (FSP) designed to assist disabled vehicles along congested segments and relieve peak period non-recurring congestion through quick detection, verification removal of incidents in Florida. It consists approximately 88 fleet provides free about 918 centerline miles. funded by the Florida Department Transportation (FDOT) its partners, bid out private contractors. objective this study examine evaluate benefits against their operating costs five seven FDOT Districts Turnpike Enterprise. were chosen due availability data activity logs for analysis. direct general public terms reduced delay, fuel consumption, air pollution improved safety security. would be expected more significant during when demand reaches or exceeds capacity than off-peak mid-day where may not as an issue. considered analysis include administration, operation, maintenance, employee salaries, overhead costs. Incident obtained from daily maintained provider containing important information time, duration, location, type provided. Other collected average traffic volume, geometric characteristics freeways, unit cost service, etc.
