European Alliance Against Depression: Person centered care for depression and prevention of suicidal behaviour

摘要: Background: Depression is a prevalent and severe disorder major cause for attempted completed suicides in Europe. Objectives: The community-based 4-level-intervention concept developed within the “European Alliance against Depression” (EAAD; www.eaad.net ) combines two important objectives: to improve care treatment of patients with depression prevent suicidal behavior. Methods: EAAD 4-level intervention comprises training support primary providers (level 1), professional public awareness campaign 2), community facilitators (teachers, priests, geriatric givers, pharmacists, journalists) 3), self-help persons suffering from their relatives 4). Results: Several studies evaluated different aspects over past years showed significant reduction behavior various changes intermediate outcomes (e.g. attitude or knowledge populations). Systematic process evaluation was helpful identify several predictable unpredictable obstacles successful implementation such programs as well synergistic catalytic effects. Conclusions: has been shown be effective concerning prevention most broadly implemented targeting world-wide.
