摘要: Background: Aerobic vaginitis (AV) is caused by a displacement of the healthy vaginal Lactobacillus species with aerobic pathogens such as Enterococcus faecalis, Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus that triggers localized inflammatory immune response. AV if it not diagnosed treated early, especially during pregnancy can place health both mother foetus at risk associated preterm birth, premature rupture membranes (PROM) chorioamnionitis. Hence present study aims analysing prevalence in females reproductive age group (15-45 years) special reference to pregnancy, involved their antibiogram. Methods: Over one year period, high swabs were collected from 125 women clinical suspicion vaginitis. They then subjected Gram’ staining culture was made onto blood agar, chocolate agar MacConkey incubated aerobically 37 0c for 24 hours. The score determined organisms identified antibiotic sensitivity test isolates performed. Results: this 20.8% (26/125) most common affected between 26-30 years. Out 26 positive cases, 21 samples yielded monobacterial growth 5 cases polybacterial growth. organism isolated faecalis (32.26%), followed (25.8%), (19.35%) β-hemolytic streptococci (9.68%). Antibiotics like β–lactams/ β–lactamase inhibitor combinations, vancomycin linezolid found be more effective against all Gram whereas negative sensitive towards combination, aminoglycosides meropenem. Conclusions: This emphasized on need identify which go long way preventing adverse outcomes also ensures necessity determine pattern aid making suitable therapeutic choice 'aerobic vaginitis' considering an characterized intrinsic activity majority bacteria faecal origin, bactericidal effect without any interference microbiota.
