摘要: During 1993–2000 the conservation status of forest buffalo Syncerus caffer was investigated in Nouabale-Ndoki National Park region, northern Congo. Data from dung counts collected during a number ecological reconnaissance surveys and around showed that preferred habitat open canopy swamps clearings associated with watercourses. Buffalo abundance very low terra firma more than 250 m water, signs were restricted to large elephant trails connecting watercourses clearings. The clumped distribution appeared be result highly patchy their food resources. In species poorly represented, whereas swamp sedge they abundant. Low overall numbers, distribution, small group size, effort-high return for hunters, including sport mean must considered priority this environment.
