摘要: Narcolepsy is a life-long but non-progressive neurological disorder characterized by excessive daytime sleepiness and increased presence of rapid eye movement (REM) sleep due to loss hypocretin containing neurons located in the lateral hypothalamus. According International Classification Sleep Disorders, Third Edition (ICSD-3), narcolepsy typically associated with cataplexy and/or other REM phenomena such as hypnagogic or hypnopompic hallucinations paralysis. not an uncommon disorder, under-recognized. The age onset shows two peaks presentation: childhood adults. Both genetics environmental factors may be involved development narcolepsy. history, combined polysomnography MSLT, remain current gold standard diagnosis levels Hypocretin-1 are undetectable cerebrospinal fluid most patients cataplexy. Early recognition treatment can greatly improve quality life Treatment includes non-pharmacological (life style changes) pharmacological (stimulants, modafinil, sodium oxybate) against hypersomnia anticataplectic drugs (antidepressants oxybate).
