摘要: The pattern of Rayleigh-Benard convection air in a rectangular box heated-from-below is studied by numerically solving the three-dimensional time-dependent Navier-Stokes equations under Boussinesq approximation. Slightly supercritical Rayleigh number was adopted to track evolutions flow structure as function enclosure's aspect ratio (A=L/H). will asymptotically evolve different patterns, among which, two possible types are found. One consists pair straight vortex rolls and other appears closed rings. transition between patterns indicates that there exists bifurcation with variation container's ratio. In addition, both steady oscillatory flows have been observed, corresponding ring, respectively. complexity tends increase increasing enclosure.
