摘要: The sea anemone Entacmaea quadricolor simultaneously harbours multiple symbiont types from the genus Symbiodinium, while providing essential habitat for anemonefish. This lives close to its upper thermal threshold and experiences bleaching under elevated temperature light stress. Here, we determine whether E. experienced a shuffling in abundance of two genetically distinct (Symbiodinium C25 C3.25) during recovery. Anemones were exposed control (22.9 °C) or (28.5 42 days, whereas following 75 all anemones 22.9 °C. By day 47, more pronounced occurred via expulsion treatment than control, proportion + C3.25 increased by 6.2 13.2 % bleached anemones, respectively. relative after exposure stress may indicate that performs poorly when is elevated. Although no significant recovery density was detected, revival genotype found at 117, which it either competitive has qualities are beneficial symbiosis longer apparent. work demonstrates potential this species shuffle response environmental change could provide resilience times
