摘要: The science community is accustomed to interacting with the public for two main purposes: outreach adults (since they are patrons upon whose good will future funding depend), and education children reservoir from which next generation's talent must be drawn). We suggest that a third relationship can now fruitful, one has been little used until - notable exception of astronomy community. Astronomy long history relying on non-professionals some observations. Important contributions have made by amateur astronomers in several areas research including monitoring dust storms Mars, timing asteroid occultations, discovering comets. Note three distinct being astronomers: supply their own instrumentation, provide access observing sites around Globe, contribute innate powers perception.
