摘要: In the bistatic configuration, acoustic echoes from atmospheric boundary layer are determined by magnitude of structure parameters for wind and temperature, C respectively. Normally contribution is relatively small so this arrangement offers a remote method determining C, hence rate dissipation turbulent energy, ϵ. A quantitative assessment technique presented. Direct estimates ϵ have been made using turbulence probes attached to tethering cable large (1300m3) balloon. Sounder-derived values were obtained two carefully calibrated arrays. Results in both convective stable conditions described contrasted.
