摘要: Abstract  The aim of this study was to characterize giant migrating contractions (GMCs) during spontaneous defecation in dogs and investigate the effect mitemcinal (an orally active highly acid-resistant motilin receptor agonist) on colonic motility assess possibility using it for treatment disorders. To motility, strain-gauge force transducers were implanted gastrointestinal tract five dogs, behaviour monitored with a noctovision-video camera system. (0, 3, 10 or 30 mg per dog) sennoside (300 mg assessed 24 h after oral administration. During 39-day period, starting point most 140 GMCs between transverse colon descending colon, but some variation observed. In daytime, originated from somewhat more proximal positions than at night. Mitemcinal caused an increase GMC-index (integration contractile amplitude duration) translocation GMC point, did not cause number defecations 12 h Sennoside, however, significant defecations, GMC-index, prolongation duration GMCs. canine varied defecation. potent prokinetic drug mimic compared sennoside. evacuates intestinal luminal contents does
