Tartaric acid-assisted precipitation of visible light-driven Ce-doped ZnO nanoparticles used for photodegradation of methylene blue

摘要: ZnO nanoparticles doped with different contents of Ce were synthesized by a tartaric acid-assisted precipitation method. The as-synthesized samples and without high temperature calcination characterized CHNS/O analysis, thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Raman spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), photoelectron (XPS), UV-visible spectroscopy. According to the analytical results, undoped Ce-doped pure phase hexagonal ZnO. much smaller than nanoparticles, 117 ± 37 nm for 18 ± 4 nm 5 wt% evaluated through photodegradation methylene blue (MB) under visible light irradiation. exhibited best photocatalytic activity 95.2% within 60 min, degraded products detected direct mass spectrometry. A mechanism photocatalysis was also proposed.
