Adsorption of Atmospheric Gases at the Air-Water Interface. 2. C1-C4 Alcohols, Acids, and Acetone

摘要: Measurements of the temperature- and concentration-dependent surface tensions aqueous solutions methanol, 1- 2-propanol, 2-butanol, acetic, propionic, butanoic acids, acetone were used to determine standard free energies, enthalpies, entropies adsorption from vapor phase onto a water surface. The saturated coverage all these species is approximately 1014 molecules cm-2. enthalpies are correlated solution, suggesting that partially solvated in adsorbed state. These results further suggest atmospheric droplets could be coated with an organic layer.
