摘要: Idiopathic noncirrhotic portal hypertension is a poorly defined clinical condition of unknown etiology. Patients present with signs and symptoms without evidence cirrhosis. The disease course appears to be indolent benign an overall better outcome than cirrhosis, as long the complications are properly managed. This has been recognized in different parts world diverse ethnic groups variable risk factors, resulting numerous terminologies lack standardized diagnostic criteria. Therefore, although diagnosis idiopathic requires exclusion other conditions that can cause histopathologic confirmation, this entity under-recognized clinically well pathologically. Recent studies have demonstrated entities terms likely represent histologic spectrum single which obliterative venopathy might underlying pathogenesis. perception calls for standardization nomenclature formulation widely accepted criteria, will facilitate easier recognition disorder highlight awareness entity.
