摘要: Purpose Accelerated degenerative changes at intervertebral levels adjacent to a spinal fusion, the so-called segment degeneration (ASD), have been reported in many clinical studies. Even though pathogenesis of ASD is still widely unknown, biomechanical vitro approaches often used investigate impact instrumentation on segments. The goal this review (1) summarize results these studies with respect applied protocol and loads (2) discuss if assumptions made for different protocols match patients’ postoperative situation.
