The Estimation of Need for Dental Care

摘要: This paper presents a background discussion of the estimation normative need for dental care. Definitions are given which differentiate care from perceived need, demand, or utilization. Four different approaches to obtaining estimates outlined. They translation data surveys status, care, analyses service treatment records, and best judgment practitioners. Present limitations within four aproaches estimating include factors such as objectivity, directness, completeness, precision, extent population coverage. Applications identified in areas evaluation, setting priorities, planning health programs.
