摘要: This paper presents a background discussion of the estimation normative need for dental care. Definitions are given which differentiate care from perceived need, demand, or utilization. Four different approaches to obtaining estimates outlined. They translation data surveys status, care, analyses service treatment records, and best judgment practitioners. Present limitations within four aproaches estimating include factors such as objectivity, directness, completeness, precision, extent population coverage. Applications identified in areas evaluation, setting priorities, planning health programs. Current developments area services, including concepts an adequate minimum standard personal quality assurance, rationing by seen providing some impetus greater interest Future directions needs will depend upon validation outlined, well general costs collecting on status population.
