摘要: Background : More than eight million people develop active tuberculosis annually and most of the cases are detected in developing world. This study aims to describe knowledge about management national control program among medical students young doctors a country. Materials Methods A questionnaire based survey was conducted 112 interns post graduate tertiary care hospital these doctors. Results Of respondents The number sputum specimens required for diagnosis under RNTCP responded correctly by only 57%, time duration which specimen should be processed told 42.5%, while examination guidelines extra-pulmonary 27%. awareness serious forms sputum-negative pulmonary 21%, form extra known 33%. correct categorization patients done 56% respondents, treatment tubercular meningitis marked 69% respondents. Conclusions indicates low level participants despite DOTS covering entire country at present. an enormous challenge urgent need revamp reform undergraduate education change curriculum with instituting practical training Directly Observed Short Course (DOTS) centers India.
